As Rhea reached for the fragment, the serpent suddenly reared back, hissing loudly. The hum in the cavern turned into a deafening roar, and the ground beneath them began to shake violently. From the shadows, tendrils of darkness emerged, writhing and lashing toward them.

“The Abyss!” Mira shouted.

The serpent turned, its glowing spines illuminating the cavern. It lunged at the tendrils, tearing through them with sharp, crystalline fangs. But the darkness was relentless, growing stronger with each passing moment.

“We have to help it!” Rhea yelled.

Kiran nodded, gripping his shard tightly. “Let’s do this!”

The trio raised their shards, their light piercing through the shadows. The tendrils recoiled, but the darkness began to twist into new forms: humanoid figures with jagged edges and glowing red eyes.

“They just keep coming!” Mira said, her voice strained.

Rhea’s shard flared, and she felt a surge of energy. “Focus your light! Together!”

The three of them stepped forward, their shards glowing in unison. The combined light struck the darkness, forcing it to retreat. As the last tendril dissolved, the serpent turned to them, its glowing eyes filled with gratitude.

The pedestal behind it brightened, and the second fragment rose into the air. Rhea reached out and grasped it, feeling its power merge with the first.
