Chapter 6: The City of
Lumina
Selan led
them toward the glowing dome in the distance. As they walked, the air seemed to
hum with energy, and the ground beneath their feet resonated with a rhythmic
pulse, like the heartbeat of the realm itself.
The city
of Lumina was a marvel beyond their wildest imaginations. Buildings of
translucent stone spiraled into the cavern’s ceiling, their surfaces adorned
with veins of light that pulsed like living veins. The inhabitants, beings like
Selan, moved gracefully through the streets, their crystalline forms glinting
in the radiant glow.
The trio
attracted curious glances from the residents, but no one approached until they
reached a grand plaza at the city’s center. There, a massive monolith rose from
the ground, its surface engraved with countless glowing symbols.
“This is
the Heartstone,” Selan explained. “It connects every stone in our realm. The
fractures began here. To heal it, you must undertake the Trials of Resonance.
Each trial will test one of your traits—courage, curiosity, and loyalty.”
“What happens
if we fail?” Kiran asked, his voice heavy with doubt.
“Failure
would mean the unraveling of both worlds,” Selan said solemnly. “But I sense
strength in you. The stones do not make mistakes.”
Rhea felt
a spark of determination ignite within her. She turned to Kiran and Mira, who
both nodded. “We’ll do it,” she said.
Selan
extended a hand toward the Heartstone. “Then place your palms upon the stone
and accept the trials.”
The three
stepped forward, each placing a hand on the cool, luminous surface. Light
surged around them, and the world dissolved into a swirling cascade of colors.
