Chapter 33: The Fear of
Loss
Kiran
stood at the edge of the mist, his hands trembling. The vision before him was
the hardest to face: his father, the stern and demanding man who had always
expected the best from him. But now, the father he had so often tried to prove
himself to was kneeling before him, face stricken with grief.
“Kiran,
you’ve failed me,” his father’s voice cracked. “You’ll never live up to your
potential. I’ve wasted my time with you.”
Kiran
felt the sting of those words, the years of trying to earn his father’s
approval suddenly crashing down on him. “I… I tried so hard. I thought I
could be the one to finally live up to your expectations. But it was never
enough, was it?”
His
father’s figure turned into a shadow, disappearing into the mist. The pain of
those memories lingered, but the image soon faded.
Suddenly,
a soft hand touched his shoulder, and a new voice echoed within him, quiet but
steady. “You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. You’ve already proven your
worth, not through your strength, but through your heart. And that’s all that
matters.”
Kiran
closed his eyes, letting the weight of those words settle in his chest. The
shadow of his father was gone, and the mist cleared.
